Pam Miras

PAM MIRAS is a director and screenwriter for film and television. Her feature film debut, Pascalina, (2012),  won Best Picture at the 2012 Cinema One Originals film festival.

Since her first win for Best Short Feature at the 13th Gawad CCP for her thesis film Reyna Ng Kadiliman (1999), her short films have screened and won awards at local and international festivals. She had won the Best Short Film award twice at the Gawad Urian Awards for the films Reyna Ng Kadiliman (1999) and Wag Kang Titingin (2010). Wag Kang Titingin also won the Best Short Film award at the Cinemalaya Film Festival, where an earlier short film, Blood Bank (2004) won Best Screenplay in 2005. Blood Bank  was also In Competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival and had also won Best Philippine Short at the .MOV International Film Festival. In 2014, another short film Pusong Bato (2013) competed at the Singapore International Film Festival.

She is currently employed as a writer for local television dramas. This year, she is in the process of filming her 2nd feature, Medusae, a finalist in the 2017 QCinema film festival.

Synopsis
Des is a woman suffering from aplastic anemia who receives weekly blood transfusions. This is administered in a blood bank where Emma works as a medical technician. One night, Des is mugged by Cleto. Going through her things, he discovers Des’ diary and learns more about her person. He becomes drawn to her. He stalks her and is led to the blood bank where he learns of her predicament. He decides to sell his blood. With this act, Cleto feels a sense of redemption, his way of making up for the crime he has done to her and to others before her. At the blood bank, he also develops a relationship with Emma.
